Last Sunday's Gospel ...
Jesus tells us in the gospel that we have to always try to be the best we can be. We need to bear fruit as the fig tree. We also need to reflect on when we haven’t been fruitful or have sinned, lest we be uprooted like the fig tree. We do have a second chance and we need to take it.

Stewardship Thought ...
The waters of Baptism make us part of the new Convenant in Christ. But there is a fundamental obligation arising from the Sacrament of Baptism .... that people place their gifts, their resources, their very selves, at God's service in and through the Church.
I had the very great pleasure of meeting many of you at the Welcome to the Community and Kinder and Year 5 Buddy Mass. It was a lovely parish celebration. The sausage sizzle afterwards proved popular too and I thank Mr Vincent, as well as all the staff and their families, for all the preparation and time they put into this. Thank you all for bringing your children and having them look so smart in their uniforms on a Saturday. I do appreciate the extra effort that requires on your part!
Our cross country carnival was held very successfully last Monday and we have the
Athletics Carnival coming up this Monday. These events require a lot of work on the part of the staff but it is absolutely worth it when we see students running up to us full of pride in how they went and often also celebrating how a sibling or friend went. All gain points for their house and the students are able to see that grow now.
Thanks to the P&F, we have made a wall display for our house points. The students add a small coloured pompom to a clear box that we have on display near the canteen. This is for the carnivals but also all the other points they can earn:- uniform, homework, classroom rewards etc. Next time you are in the school, please have a look.
The P&F meet this coming Monday night at 7.30pm. Remember that I will be in the library from 6.30pm if you would like to come and have a chat about anything at all. Come alone or bring a friend if that makes you feel more comfortable. I am happy to speak about anything, provided, as I’m sure you will support, it doesn’t touch on a confidential matter.
We have decided to hold our Staff Development Day on the first day back of Term 2, Monday 29th April. John Therry’s day is the same so we hope this makes it easier for you if you have students at both schools. We are glad to have been able to arrange things in this way this year.
God Bless

An enormous thank you to the wonderful parent helpers that came on the day - you really to make these events happen!
