Last Sunday we heard in the Gospel the story of Martha and Mary. Jesus visited the home of Martha and Mary - Luke 10:38-42 - Luke's story of Mary and Martha of Bethany, sisters of Lazarus, teaches us about hospitality, service, action, contemplation and distraction in pursuit of their Catholic fullness.
Jesus teaches us that being a true disciple requires us to respond to those around us, like Martha and to listen, reflect and respond like Mary. Being a Christian, requires us to both listen and respond to those who are in need.
Dear Parents and Carers,
WELCOME TO TERM THREE!
Last term, we welcomed the opportunity for parents and carers to meet with class teachers during our parent-teacher conferences. These conversations are so valuable and they provide a chance to hear about your child’s learning progress and identify areas for future growth. For our Stage Three students, this was also a time to engage in a three-way conference, where your child joined the discussion and shared their reflections on their own learning journey. These moments build confidence and help our students take ownership of their learning.
These meetings are a great opportunity to continue to build positive parent school partnerships and provide an opportunity to support and nurture student growth in their understanding of their faith, learning and wellbeing.
As always, if you ever need to speak with your child’s teacher or a member of the school leadership team, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We value open and ongoing communication and know that strong partnerships between home and school are key to student success.
Thank you to those parents who were able to join these meetings. These meetings are a time for parents and teachers to discuss goals to further support student learning. We are looking forward to a productive and rewarding term ahead. We greatly value the support of parents, as we work together in close partnership to support your child.
May we continue to Seek Wisdom and Love God in all that we do.
Jane Webb

The Scholastic Book club is coming soon to our school!
What is book club?
The book club provides the children with easy access to a broad range of fun children's literature, by supplying all students in our school a physical book catalogue to make a book purchase of the child's choice. The catalogues will be provided twice a term, this will be commencing in term 3.
What are the benefits of book club?
Experience has shown that having a physical catalogue that children can flick through is the best way to make book purchases of the child's choice. A child's likelihood to engage in reading highly depends on whether they have chosen the reading materials themselves.
The school community benefits as 15% of the total spend with each purchase can be used to purchase additional resources for the whole school community.
Each age group has a $3 book.
How do we pay for books ?Kinder 100 Days Brighter - Monday 28 July 2025
Kindergarten will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Monday, 28th July.
This year’s theme is “100 Days Brighter.” To celebrate the occasion, students are invited to wear their most colourful clothes on this special day.
Please ensure students have a hat and closed in shoes.
POSITIVE BEHAVIOURS FOR LEARNING (PB4L)
When students exhibit positive behaviour, by following our school rules, their name is written on a raffle ticket and is entered into a draw where two winners are selected at flag-raising on a Monday morning. The students receive a voucher for the Canteen which can be used for treats or put towards a lunch order.
Congratulations to these winners:

Netball Gala Day
At the end of last term, two teams had a wonderful day at the Netball gala day held at Minto.
We would like to share some quotes from the students and photos below.
“Great sportsmanship was shown” - Eloise Y 6
“We had a lot of fun” - Lilly Y5
“Everything was good and I learnt new skills” - Makenzie Y5

OLHC Athletic Carnival
What a wonderful day we had at our Athletics Carnival on Monday! We were truly blessed with beautiful, sunny weather, creating the perfect backdrop for a fun-filled day of sports, team spirit, and community.
Congratulations to all our students - Whether giving it their all to achieve impressive personal bests, or pirouetting across the finish line, all maintained a wonderful sense of positive school spirit and excellent sportsmanship.
A very special thanks as well to our amazing parents and volunteer helpers, who gave up their time to support the carnival, often sacrificing the chance to watch their own children compete. Your contribution does not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for your ongoing support..
It was a memorable day for all involved, and we are already looking forward to next year!
We look forward to presenting ribbons from the Carnival at the next Assembly on 1 August 2025.

CAMP AUSTRALIA - Welcome to Tess
We warmly welcome Tess Mullin to OLHC as the new Camp Australia Service Leader. Tess replaces Sam Holowczak who has taken up a position at another school.
I am sure that the families who utilise Camp Australia will make Tess feel most welcome at OLHC.
Sickness of Students - Please keep students at home if unwell.

Lost Property
Each term, we accumulate a huge number of lost clothing. We kindly ask Parents to please to check your children's clothing regularly to ensure they have their own jumper or jacket and have not misplaced or taken someone's clothes home by mistake.
